Zoë Melo, principal, has been interested and actively involved in supporting communities and social causes for years. Through product development she has worked with non-profit organizations such as Aid to Artisans, StraaT and SEBRAE, etc. We plan on expanding our involvement with these organizations and others, as we believe that the way we develop our products can make a difference in the lives of people who manufacture them, and those who use them.
When working with communities in under-developed areas of the world, we don’t see it as merely offering help or support to these people and places, but instead as an exchange that can and should be mutually beneficial to all parties involved. Our projects should be more than public relation efforts to garner media coverage, but rather real efforts of different cultures working together.
